Tickets are now available for the 2025 Easter long weekend tours of Tenterfields iconic, historic mansion - Stannum House!
Stannum House is a Victorian Italianate mansion, built in late 1888 by tin and mining magnate John Holmes Reid with no expense spared.
The three-storey villa is constructed with triple brick on granite foundations. The grand rooms boast sixteen foot high ceilings with elaborate ceiling roses and cornice work, and feature local red cedar timber throughout with kauri pine floors. Marble fireplaces adorn each room.
New owners Wendy and Bruce have embarked on a remarkable journey of restoration since acquiring the property last year.
The house tour will include the expansive entrance hallway and three large downstairs rooms including the front dining room, drawing room and bedroom.
Visitors will also be able to see the restoration progress underway throughout the huge upstairs bedrooms.
A beautiful historic building - and a must see when visiting Tenterfield!
